CAN NADAL DE LA BOADELLA was established in the early 16th century, in the Region of Penedès.

There is an important temperature change in July and August in this region.  It greatly affects the ripping of the grapes.  Nadal “cava”, white wine and bittersweet vinegar production land is constituted by more than 40 vineyard plots that surround the winery, the wine cellars and this ancient house.  Grapevines are old, and so we can collect small quantity of grapes but with a high quality.  In this way we can produce great long-ageing wines and “cavas”.

• Varieties: in Finca Nadal we mainly grow three autochthonous white-grape varieties: Macabeo, Xarel·lo y Parellada

OUR CAVAS

• Year-production “Cavas”: Brut, Rosado Brut y Semi Seco.

In 1943 we started our “cava” production process.  The varieties that are used are Macabeo, Xarel·lo and Parellada (from our own vineyards).  After a meticulous wine process, we let the liquid in the bottle to allow a second fermentation (traditional method or “champañés”), and after that there is an ageing period that last from 2 to 7 years.

• Year “Cava”: Ramón Nadal Giró, Salvatge y Especial.

It is exclusively produced with grapes from exceptional vintages, with optimum characteristics (from the prevailing grape of the specific harvest).  The oldest vineyards of Nadal Winery, on very special climatic conditions, produce wines (with variety selection) that have very specific characteristics.  The first wine, after a second fermentation in the bottle, needs a three-year period minimum to become the great wine that it can be.

The “Mágnums”: Mágnum Brut Nature, Rosado Mágnum 1999, Gran Salvatge 1997.

1.50-litre bottles are the best way to store the wine to allow the second fermentation and a long ageing.  This produces the best wine to be enjoyed in the most splendid events or celebrations.

 WE HAVE OTHER PRODUCTS

• Noble and fine white wines: Nadal 1510, Dolç D´Octubre, Finca Boadella.

We have deep knowledge of our vineyards; we develop a programme with specific techniques to adapt autochthonous varieties to the Mediterranean climate to make the best or the ripping process.  In this way we get a unique character for our white wines.

Bittersweet vinegar: Passum.

Our vinegar is different to others: PASSUM, which is exclusively produced with a belated harvest of Macabeo grape variety.

VISIT OUR “CAVAS” (CELLARS)

We are in a property called Finca Nadal de la Boadella.  It is in an ideal location, perfect to do different visits and activities.  100 hectares of vineyards welcome the visitors.  From these vineyards we take the grapes to make our wines and cavas.  You can enjoy an itinerary to learn about the different processes to elaborate our noble white wine.  Visiting Cavas Nadal is a perfect opportunity to learn about the magic and interesting world of the wine and the cava and enjoy a great time surrounded by a natural environment.

-Tasting course: from 25 € per person.

-Don’t hesitate to ask about the activities that we organise throughout the year.

• Visiting hours:

From Monday to Friday: from 10:00 to 13:30h / from 15:30 to 18:00h.
Saturdays: from 10:00 to 13.30h. (It is closed in January and February)
Sundays and holidays in November and December: from 10:00h to 13:30h.
We speak: Catalonian, Spanish and English.
Please, reserve in advance.
